According to USA Today, tourism officials are in a disagreement about a new reality show that will unfairly paint Lake Havasu City as one major frat party. Supposedly "Party Heat" on TruTV (formerly CourtTV) will portray Lake Havasu as "the most decadent city in the world" during their Spring break Lake Havasu party. The show's portrayal of Lake Havasu has been described as "sensational". The show follows boating officers patrol Lake Havasu. The footage was filmed last spring and summer revealing the rowdy side of a Lake Havasu party.
Spring Break at Lake Havasu has been described as infamous by Arizona locals themselves. Many Lake Havasu party photos portray a wild time, so perhaps "Party Heat" will focus on the moments when Lake Havasu transforms into Spring Break central for college students who are on break from predominantly instate universities, such as Arizona State University, University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University.
It is undeniable that when students visit for Spring Break, a wild and reckless Lake Havasu party will ensue. So, perhaps, only the wildest times occur during Spring Break which is when "Party Heat" selectively chose to air.
