Laketrash.comAre you a lover of boating and different water sports?  Do you like to get together with groups of fun loving, water-enthusiasts and enjoy the great out of doors on the water?  You might want to check out a site appropriately named Lake Trash.  Not that they are trashy people, but they just like to spend as much time as they can on or near the water, especially where it’s warm.

Lake Powell and Lake Hottie, better known as Lake Havasu, are like magnets for boating enthusiasts year around.  Only in Arizona can boaters flock year around with their power boats, cigarette boats or the more sedate house boats and play all day in the sun.  Of course you can tie up your power boat or cigarette boat to your houseboat, so why even leave the water if you don’t have to?

Boating enthusiasts are an odd lot.  I can say that because I have been one and have many friends that can’t seem to stay away from the water.  I agree, it is a most contagious affliction, but you better have loads of sun screen or you might be in for a rather uncomfortable time come sundown.

When you are with groups of fun loving, water-enthusiasts, anything can happen.  I have had more fun helping novices learn to water ski.  Some of the pratfalls you see behind these monster power boats are simply priceless.  I have seen grown men and women reduced to quivering masses of chuckles with tears running down their cheeks from watching a cartwheeling double twist followed by the infamous water skiers enema by a novice that thought they had water skiing down and told the driver let her rip.

Lake Hottie

Lake Hottie is overrun with college students on spring break.  Guess what’s coming up folks?  That’s right.  It’s the time of year when the lake regulars decide they want to become landlubbers for a week and visit mom in Tulsa.  There is also the chance that these more intelligent of the species will live to swim another day.

To many of the young college students on spring break, Lake Havasu can seem like paradise, especially if you are going to school in Minnesota.  Problem is, many of them think of alcohol only in quantity, not quality.  That can lead to many things going wrong in a young life, least of all a bad hangover.

Once the kids have left for school and the regulars return, life gets back to normal at Lake Hottie, oops, excuse me, Lake Havasu.  The roar of power boats and cigarette boats is a constant companion along with the sweet perfume of the exhaust fumes.  Hey, I said they are an odd lot.
