Spring Break Lake Havasu Can Be Chaotic. |

My guess is that Lake Havasu City is a hopping place right now, because March is the month for spring break, and that place collects college kids like a magnet collects nails. The weather in March there is nearly perfect, and kids coming from cold climates can enjoy the magnificent early spring sunshine in the desert, have a Havasu Lake party, and stay in reasonably priced hotels. Spring break Lake Havasu is not the time for retirees or snow birds to visit. The music is loud, the kids are wild, and the traffic is severe. I can see why they go there. It's quite a place. There is so much to do, and for those so inclined and over 21, they can gamble, hoping to win back what it cost them to get there, and more.
The easiest ways to get to Lake Havasu Arizona are by flying to Las Vegas or Ontario, CA, or driving. Because seven or eight months of the year, Lake Havasu Arizona is an oven, it does not support a population large enough to have its own major airport. The temperatures soar over 115 frequently, but in March, the highs are usually in the low 80's, which may seem like a heat wave to spring breakers coming from northern parts of California, Oregon, or Washington. This month's weather should be fantastic, so enjoy Lake Havasu City, and if you are over 40, bring your ear plugs. |
